With Little...

"His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!' "
-Matthew 25:23

I talk with Ja. about faith and life and arrogance, and what it means to come back to it.

I talk with V. about it too.

I realize that I have a chance. That God is giving me a chance to be the person that I have always professed to be.

There is a story that I need to tell here.

I used to be married. If you read this more than once, I'm sure you have picked that up. But I remember that when I was married I would always want to cut back. I never did for some reason or another. Usually because of some strange performance that I felt I needed to make to prove to J. that I was a "great husband."

Needless to say I just made myself more poor. Ruined (because I had a part in it) my marriage, and put myself in an insane position of having literally nothing, except two suitcases of clothes and a backpack of books.

But amidst all of that time. I remember talking to my friend Mo. about these tiny houses that you can buy and put in the middle of nowhere, and I remember telling her how I would love to live in one but that J. would never have a part in it.

Today I looked at the smallest apartment ever. And I'm in love.

I'm going to make the attempt to move into the place, and I'm asking for God to allow that.

And when I told V. about it. She sounded just as in love with the place as I was. I can only hope that I will have the chance to live in a tiny place, within my means, in the heart of the city.

I want to do something with very little. So that my God will see it and say, "Well done boy, well done."

I am so proud of you. Live within your means. Live simply with God at the center. And here you are, doing just that. I cannot imagine that He is not smiling upon you, saying, "How that man shines!"

I need to take you towel shopping...
