there is a good reason why you aren't finding great words to illustrate the blues, there aren't any. yes, there are words in blues songs and words in spirituals but it is very rarely about the words when it comes to blues. it would be a high broom to jump to illustrate a thing that doesn't even use words to illustrate itself. imagine trying to describe a picasso or a van goh. even if you gave an exact replica with words diagramed with notes and noted intonation you would still lose the meaning. the blues is about the swing behind the notes and the wail in guitar just as much as the van goh is about the pain behind the swoop of the brush. you have not failed you have done all you can which is as most as we all can do.
